Episode 28: Nour Palestina’s Fight to Preserve Palestinian History
Art Persists is back with another episode with Palestinian artist, activist, DJ, and producer Nour Palestina.
We chat to Nour about her project, Refugee Chronicles, where she interviews survivors of the 1948 Nakba which saw 700,000 Palestinians forcibly displaced and a further 15,000 killed. Nour talks about her project and its eerie parallels to Gaza today where over 1.8 million people have been internally displaced and at least 15,500 have been killed since 7 October 2023. She talks about media bias and the role of social media in unveiling the truth.

Nour Palestina is an artist, activist, DJ and music producer.
Nour has spent the past two years interviewing Palestinian elders who lived through the Nakba. She has record their testimonies and archives the recordings to preserve their stories. It is a solemn yet important undertaking.
Over the past decade, she has performed at acclaimed festivals worldwide, showcasing her DJing and live set talents at prestigious festivals like Fusion, Never Sea, Burning Man, and Tomorrowland. Additionally, she has independently produced and released original electronic tracks across various streaming platforms. She is a dedicated electronic music producer and DJ committed to empowering women and gender minorities in the industry.
She is also Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Beyond Us, a non-profit organisation. Nour says she is deeply passionate about empowering refugee children and teenagers through the transformative power of art.
